Key Functions and Contributions
A global business facilitator since 1979, Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) is home to the region’s leading purpose-built convention and exhibition centre. DWTC provides a platform for connecting people, products, innovation and ideas from around the world through a dynamic calendar of international trade exhibitions and its own roster of sector leading mega events. As a designated free zone, complemented by award-winning commercial real estate, DWTC plays an integral role in Dubai and the region’s growth story.
Since its inauguration, DWTC has hosted close to 6,400 events, with an estimated economic output of AED 270 billion, attracting over 40 million business visitors to Dubai.
Building on this legacy, DWTC’s second flagship venue, the Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC), stands as a premier destination for prominent national and international mega events. Strategically aligned with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, DEC’s recently announced AED 10 billion expansion is integral to Expo City Dubai’s vision of becoming a global business hub for exhibitions and events.

Venue Services Management
Venue Services Management (VSM) at DWTC is responsible for the leasing, operations, and management of DWTC's portfolio of world-class venues, including Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre (DICEC), Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC) at Expo City Dubai, and Jafza One Convention Centre.
VSM also manages key DWTC brands such as DWTC Hospitality, Weddings by DWTC, Event Plus and Emirates Palace Catering. In addition, it organises prominent annual events including Dubai Sports World, and The Majlis.
Event Management
Events Management at DWTC delivers an annual calendar of industry-leading events across a wide range of sectors, including technology, healthcare, food, automotive, marine leisure, hospitality, and more.
From flagship brands such as GITEX Global and Gulfood, each with a legacy spanning over 30 years, to sector-defining events like the Dubai International Boat Show, World Art Dubai, CABSAT Middle East, GISEC Global, Dubai International Horse Fair, and Ru'ya Careers UAE, DWTC’s events play a pivotal role in shaping Dubai’s event landscape.
Free Zone
Located in Dubai's Central Business District, Dubai World Trade Centre’s Freezone is home to 2,000+ companies from 40+ industries spanning construction, healthcare, IT, media, and trade.
Reflecting DWTC’s broader commitment to supporting industry growth, the Free Zone— regulated by the DWTC Authority— offers an ideal environment for established companies, start-ups, and entrepreneurs alike. Established in 2005, DXB LIVE is DWTC’s award-winning event management and experiential agency. DXB LIVE offers its services for over 100 major events annually delivering more than 500,000 square feet of exhibition stands, live events, conferences, and bespoke turnkey solutions. The DXB LIVE also organises world-class conferences, events, and trade exhibitions, and provides strategic consultancy to associations and international organisations.
As a 360-degree event management agency, DXB LIVE offers services that cover the spectrum of live events and event production requirements, including audio-visual solutions, rigging, bespoke lighting, staging, simultaneous translation, and multimedia and broadcasting, among others.

Economic Impact Report
2024
DWTC’s 2024 Economic Impact Assessment underscores its substantial contribution to Dubai’s economy, led by 100 large-scale exhibitions, international association conventions, and industry conferences – a 32% increase year-on-year. These events drew over 2 million attendees and generated a total economic output of AED22.35 billion.
